An itinerary giving proof to the faith of the "Poverello of Assisi " which inspired the poem "Cantico de'la Creature" . This itinerary aims to show you the sites where St. Francis lived and to breath the same atmosphere of peace & serenity that inspired his love of nature's little things . We will visit the sanctuary of Greccio , Assisi , La Verna and finally Montecasale where St. Francis used to stop on his way back from Assisi

The region is characterized by the upper reaches of the Tiber where, from a limpid Spring the rivers starts its journey down to the rocky gorges at frenetic speed ,slackening in pace only when the steep slopes of the Appenines slowly open out into a somewhat narrow plain . Today the river is greatly reduced in size & volume , however its inherent charm has remained intact . Michelangelo maintained that he owed his geniality to the surrounding countryside . Of course he words cannot be taken literally , although there remains the fact that he , a native of these mountains , had the gift of percieving life in the core of a stone block just as Piero della Francesca . In his birthplace BORGO SAN SEPOLCRO , they had understood the secret of light & space and converted it into art .
