| Capalbio : Villa Garavicchio Sculpture Garden |
|
| Villa Garavicchio is situated on the hill top of Capalbio . The enormous mosaic-clad sculptures present in the gardens of the Villa were designed by French-American sculptor Niki de Saint Phalle in the 1980's .
Saint Phalle got much of her inspiration for the polchrome sculptures from the Renaissance Monster Park at Bomarzo (approx. an hours drive away) .
The Villa Garavicchio Sculpture Garden has also been compared to the Gaudi Gardens in Barcellona . |

| Castel Giuliano - Bracciano |
|
| These gardens were created during the 1980's and 1990's by the Marchesa Umberta Patrizi around the baroque church of S. Filippo Neri and a 17th century castle .
They are located between Bracciano & the Etruscan necropolis of Cerveteri . During the month of May a Rose Festival takes place .

| Imperia : Hanbury Botanical Gardens |
|
| Created in the 1860's by Sir Thomas Hanbury ( English philanthropist) .
Situated on the Riviera near Ventimiglia , the Hanbury Botanical Garden is one of the world's most important Mediterranean gardens .
During peak season , it contains not only 6,000 plant species but also many rare subtropicals little known in Europe .
After being neglected in the 1960's , the University of Genoa's Botany department are slowly returning Hanbury to its former splendour . |

| Ischia : La Mortella |
|
| The Garden of La Mortella were created by late Sir William Walton and his wife Susana and designed by Russel Page. Ischia , is an extraordinary combination of an oversized rock quarry and a tropical rain forest .
La Mortella is now part of the William Walton foundation and concerts are held there in the summer.
In the Neapolitan dialect “Mortella” is the name of the “divine” or Mediterranean .... |

| Landriana Gardens |
|
| These gardens were designed by the late Marchesa Lavinia Taverna , assisted by Russel Page - a landscape architect . There are 30 seperate different gardens "rooms" , all with an astonishing number of rare Mediterraneo plants . The "rooms " of the Landriana gardens have different colour themes and shapes and the highlights include :

| Ninfa |
|
| This romantic garden was created around the ruins of an abandoned medieval town - a rushing river being its centrepiece . Members of the noble CAETANI family helped in the creation of the garden . Princess Lelia Caetani , last of the Caetani to own NINFA , married with HON . Hubert Howard improved and refined the garden in the 1960's & 1970's and also safeguarded its survival by forming the CAETANI FOUNDATION .

| Rome : Maresa del Bufalo gardens |
|
| Situated south of Rome ,close by the Appia Antica.
Maresa del Bufalo over the past 30 years has dedicated this garden to old fashioned and antique roses , most of which she imported from Britain.
This garden now contains more than one thousand varieties and almost every bush , tree and wall is covered with rambling and climbing roses .

| Rome : Roseto Comunale |
|
| This city Rose garden hosts over 1,000 different rose varieties from all over the world , even China & Mongolia . Highlights include the Rosa Chinensis Virdiflora with its green petals , Rosa Chinensis Mutabilis which changes colour as the days go by and the Rosa Foetida which has a strange odour .
This garden is open to the public for visits during May & June .

| Rome Botanical Gardens |

| These gardens were formely known as the gardens of Palazzo Corsini .They host some of the rarest beautiful trees than anywhere else in Europe .Main highlights include the collection of cactus plants ,mountain flowers from the Appenines , path full of palms , orchids , century-old succulent euphorbias . |

| Siena : Villa Centinale |

| In 1977 , Lord Lambton bought the almost abandoned baroque villa & gardens of the Chigi estate .The garden has the formality of a tuscan park combined with the relaxed plantings of an english cottage garden .
Lord Lambton personally takes care of the pruning .

| The Vatican Gardens have the style of 16th - century Italian gardens . Beautiful decorative fountains and artificial grottoes , surrounded by lawns , trees and flower beds .
