| Florence:
Both the guide and escort were great, very informative. And of course we were very happy we could quickly stop in Pisa even though it was dark and the pictures didn't turn out great it is just so amazing to see in person.
Rome:
Escort was wonderful. Guide - she was good but she did get a little winded at the Vatican (you could definitely tell that she had a few favorite works of art there) she gave a little too much info but was great to have the headsets this way we could roam around and still here what she was saying.
Naples:
WOW I can't thank you enough for the guide you gave us that day... WOW again he was so great (and HOT!!!- he reminded us of a younger George Clooney)
Antonio was his name and I highly recommend him. He was definitely on our wave length. He was funny b/c he kept saying in Pompeii that he hated crowds and every time another group started walking our way he would move on... we loved it... we were always on the move but got great info (oh yeah and a great view!)
This was definitely one of my favorite stops Pompeii was so interesting and Sorrento beautiful, Antonio picked out a wonderful restaurant for us and we all ate together and had a great meal.
Venice:
LOVED IT... we will most definitely be back for a longer period of time. It was just so magical and beautiful (it does smell a little and I am sure in the summer it is prob horrible - and the birds... I have never in my life have seen that many birds in one place at a time and they are not afraid of you... it was a bit intimidating for sure).
As for the escort. She was great and really helpful and accommodating. The guide in the Palace... well let me put it this way, I am sure she was probably a wonderful guide but oh my god can she talk and keeping in mind this was our last day on our very hectic and informative trip we were probably not very good tourists that day. My brother-in-law finally said to her that we were all tired and that we were looking for the "brief" version of the tour and that we were all tired (and he didn't say to her but that some of the stuff she was explaining was a bit much and over our heads).
So my only suggestion would be maybe that going into some of these places w/ a ton of works of art that the guide ask what our interest level is and then kind of do the tour based on our knowledge and interest. Don't get me wrong it was a beautiful place and I am so glad we did it but even my mom who is REALLY into art basically dropped out of site from the tour.
Overall we did feel rushed but then again that was all our fault b/c we wanted to see EVERYTHING. I don't think anyone really got much if any shopping done anywhere our entire trip b/c we were on the go the whole time.
But at least we can now say we have been there and done that and when we go back we will be able to spend more time in some of our favorite locations (mine being Venice and Sorrento).
Thanks again for everything and our experience is one we will never forget. We absolutely loved Italy and can not wait to return again hopefully SOON.
