Discovering Taormina |

| You will be driven across the centre of Giardini Naxos to reach the freeway to Taormina. After about 30 minutes of panoramic drive along the coast of eastern Sicily you will arrive in Taormina, so well known all over the world and considered one of the most beautiful spots in Sicily. From there you will commence your walking tour of this charming little town. Your guide will illustrate the highlights of this walking tour which features the Cathedral from the exterior, the visit to the Greek Theatre, where you will be able to admire the remains of the ancient theatre with the view of Mt Etna as a backdrop; the view of the Palazzo Corvaia from the exterior, the view of the Odeon from the exterior, a stroll in Corso Umberto, the shopping area of Taormina. After the guided tour is completed you shall have some free time allowing you to sit in one of the nice cafes or do some shopping or wander around savoring the particular charm and atmosphere of this small medieval town with its palaces, squares, staircases, small side alleys. |

ETNA SCENIC DRIVE |

| After taking your seat in one of our deluxe air-conditioned comfortable motor-coaches and after a short drive through Giardini Naxos you reach the freeway to Catania , running along the coastline, allowing you to admire the riviera, the hills, the fields, the villages. The bus will leave the freeway in Giarre and from there will start motoring up the slopes of the volcano Etna, the largest volcano in Europe, 3.300 metres high (abt 10000 feet)
You will be driven across small villages and among the fertile fields on the side of the mountain : vineyards, orchards , chestnuts , hazelnuts are covering the mountain. Short stop in Zafferana where you will visit the main church. Continue your trip and see the old lava flow dated 1992, and continue your scenic drive. You will see the remnants of the past eruptions, last of which in October 2002, motoring along the road cutting among streams of solidified lava, a black wild petrified river coming from the top of the mountain. Reach 1900 meters above the sea level and visit the Silvestri spent craters, you will be able to walk along the brim of these craters and imagine how was with the hot lava boiling in the bottom of this gigantic cauldron. |

TAORMINA & MOUNT ETNA FULL DAY WITH LUNCH |

| Take your place aboard one of our deluxe mcoach and motor to Taormina, so well known all over the world. The town is perched on a terrace overlooking the sea and has a delightful medieval character, with lots of interesting shops and considered one of the most beautiful spots in Sicily. Leaving the bus at the parking lot you will continue on foot and your guide will illustrate the highlights of this walking tour which features the view of the Cathedral , the visit of the Greek Theatre, where you will be able to admire the remains of the ancient theatre with the view of Mt Etna as a backdrop; the view of the Palazzo Corvaia from the exterior, the view of Odeon from the exterior, a stroll in Corso Umberto, the shopping area of Taormina. After the guided tour is completed you shall have some free time allowing you to sit in one of the nice cafes or do some shopping or wander around savouring the particular charm and atmosphere of this small medieval town with its palaces, squares, staircases, small side alleys. Then board your motorcoach and drive to Mt Etna via the highway first and then via the scenic road which winds around the slopes of the mountain passing the town of Giarre and the villages of Santa Venerina and Zafferana. You will arrive at Mt. Etna-Crater Silvestri at about 6400 feet above sea level. Mt.Etna is Europe’s largest active volcano, the slopes soar up to over 10,811 feet above sea level and there you will be able to gaze out across the Catania Gulf and to view the woods, orchids and vineyards from the vantage point. But of course the major attraction is the crater and the remnants of the awe-inspiring streams of lava, last eruption was in October 2002. After visiting the spent Silvestri Craters lunch will be served in a local restaurant of Mt. Etna. |
