| Departure from pier and travel by bus to the Conero Riviera, a gorgeous resort area that houses attractive beaches, reefs, coves and coastal cliffs. You'll arrive at Sirolo, a lovely village in the regional park of Conero Mount, visit the historical village and have a cup of coffee in the wonderful square. On the way to Sirolo, you'll enjoy a photo stop in Portonovo, a wonderful seaside area.
Then you'll leave Sirolo and return to Ancona. Upon arrival visit the magnificent t San Ciriaco Cathedral. A palaeo-Christian church with its beautiful interior and columns attributed to a Greek temple dating back to the IV century B.C.
Proceed with the visit of the town both on the bus and on foot. Before return back to the pier enjoy your free time at leisure in the city centre.

| Your guided tour will start with the visit to the "Passetto" monument, the memorial to the victims of World War I that offers lovely views over the city.
The tour will continue with the visit to the Cathedral of Saint Ciriaco, situated on the top of a hill overlooking the city. Once inside the cathedral, you'll find a palaeo-Christian church and columns attributed to a greek temple dating back to the IV century B.C.
Leave the cathedral and travel downhill on foot, continuing your city tour by passing historical monuments such as the remains of a Roman amphitheatre, the Palace of the Government, built in the 15th century, the elegant Pope Square and the main street, Corso Mazzini, with its historical fountains which originally was a river.
At the end of walking tour enjoy your free time at leisure for a drink or shopping in the city centre, before returning to ship

FRASASSI CAVES |

| Drive to the Frasassi Caves, one of the most famous Karts complexes in Italy and the largest in Europe. Equipped with walkways and theatrical lighting, you’ll start you inside visit with The Abisso Ancona - this majestic cave, the largest in Europe, with a size of 180 x 120 mt and so high that it might contain a cathedral, is totally covered of concretions with the peculiar names suggested by their form: Giganti (= the giants), cascate del Niagara (= Niagara Falls), Albero morto (= the Dead Tree). The Sala Duecento named after its length of 200 mt, contains concretions called the Castello delle Streghe (= Witches' Castle), la Spada di Damocle (Damocles' Sword) which is the biggest stalactite, and the Obelisk, a stalagmite rising 15 meters from the cave floor. The Sala dell'Orsa (She-Bear Chamber) where through innumerable aeons the water created the form of a majestic bear. Last but not least…The Sala dell'Infinito a name suggested by the infinite number of times that the first speleologist had to wander the grotto before being able to find the exit, includes strange formations called the Sala dei Pagliai (Haystack Room) and the Capelli d'Angelo (Angels' Hair), extremely thin forms hanging from the vault.
At the end of your course inside the caves you’ll visit the nearby Romanesque church in the little spa of San Vittore delle Chiuse and speleo museum. The Church of St Vittore is one of the most interesting Romanesque churches in Marches.. Built with a plan typical of Byzantine temples, a Greek cross inscribed within a square, it has 3 naves and apses and a truncated bell tower. Before the church is a Roman bridge with a Gothic tower built in its defence, a spa facility and the ancient abbey

URBINO ..A JOURNEY THROUGH THE MALATESTA VESTIGES |

| A relaxing drive through the scenic Italian countryside brings you to Urbino where , upon arrival ,you'll join your local guide and make your way to the famous Palazzo Ducale. This majestic palace that was built in the second half of the 15th century by Federico II da Montefeltro houses the Galleria Nazionale delle Marche, one of the most important collections of Renaissance paintings in the world. On display here are masterpieces by artists such as Paolo Uccello, Piero della Francesca, Verrocchio, Raphael and Titian. After the visit of the palace, you'll walk downhill to the historical center and have free time at leisure for a drink or shopping, before lunch at local restaurant. After lunch you'll continue your guided tour in Urbino with the local guide. |
